Can you actually swim in it?

No. A well-designed recreational pond uses biological filtration — beneficial bacteria, aquatic plants, and aeration — to keep water clear. No chlorine, no salt, no algaecides needed for the day-to-day system.
How long does it take to build?
Most recreational ponds take four to eight weeks on site from excavation to fill, depending on size, rock work, and landscape scope. Design and permitting happen first and typically add another three to six weeks.
How much maintenance does a recreational pond need?
Once established, expect roughly one to two hours per week: skimming debris, checking the pump and skimmer basket, and light plant trimming in season. We offer maintenance visits and walk every client through seasonal care before we hand over the keys.
Will it work in a small backyard?
Yes. Recreational ponds scale down — a compact ecosystem pond can fit into a 200 sq ft footprint. For true swim ponds we generally recommend at least 400 sq ft of water surface so the regeneration zone can keep pace with swimmers.
Do you handle permits and inspections?
